From our pot to your table

Mama put was never really a restaurant. It was a pot, a bench and someone who knew your order before you opened your mouth. We grew up on that. Then we moved, and the pot stayed behind.

Come Chop is our attempt to bring the bench to you. Here is where the food starts.

  • Ginger from southern Kaduna
  • Hibiscus from northern farms
  • Tomatoes and tatashe from the Jos Plateau
  • Palm oil from the southwest
  • Groundnuts sorted by hand, checked and dried properly

Nothing artificial. Just fresh, tasteful ingredients and a lot of patience.

Quick answers

The questions people ask before they order.

Where does Mama Put deliver, and how fast?

Mama Put delivers within Abuja and Lagos. Your order arrives 2 to 3 hours after you place it, brought by our trusted delivery riders.

How does the Build your box discount work?

Add five or more items to your bowl and 10% comes off the total automatically. Build your box to watch the price change as you choose.

What should I order first?

If you are feeding two tonight, start with the party jollof and smoked chicken thighs. If you are hosting, add suya spice and a bottle of zobo. If you just want a snack, go for chin chin or puff puff mix.

How spicy is the food?

The jollof, suya spice and stews carry real atarodo (scotch bonnet) heat, medium-hot for most people. Zobo, chin chin and puff puff mix are mild.

What is in the zobo?

Mama Put zobo is hibiscus steeped with ginger, pineapple peel and cloves, with nothing artificial. Serve it cold over ice.

Where do the ingredients come from?

Ginger comes from southern Kaduna, hibiscus from northern farms, tomatoes and tatashe from the Jos Plateau and palm oil from the southwest. Groundnuts are sorted by hand, checked and dried properly.

How should I store and reheat my order?

Keep meals in the fridge and eat them within three days, or freeze them for up to a month. Reheat until steaming hot. Dry mixes and snacks keep best in a cool, dry place.
